There is a true story about the craftsman chocolate make whose chocolate have become legend and a symbol of luxury and prtigeious chocolate all across the world. Praliné is a mixture that is used in the baking of the chocolate and it is made by finely grounded almonds and the finally grounded hazelnuts with the caramelized sugar which was first invented in Belgium. Pierre Draps Senior have produced his first praline chocolates in the small atelier at home. Soon after that the entire family and four children started helping their parents in producing, finishing, packaging and delivering their elegant chocolates, which were sold in the department stores of Brussels. The family decided to choose the evocative name for their chocolate when they named it as Godiva which was being inspired by old English legend of lady Godiva’s passion, boldness and generosity. They then started selling the Godiva in the entire market of Brussels and when there their parents passed away then their four children named Pierre, Joseph, Francois and Yvonne rose to the challenge and continued the family business.

Joseph Draps have already moved the business out of the home and have opened their first boutique in Brussels at Boulevard Leopold. They sold the classic, handmade chocolates and this was followed for next three years and after that they unveiled the flagship of boutique in Brussels’ iconic Grand Place also and then Openings of boutique in the rest of the world follows. The Godiva’s first boutique was in Paris which was opened in 1958, at chic rue St. Honoré. Then they made Godiva debut in North America by opening one of the most elegant departmental stores in Philadelphia. In New York the Godiva’s first boutique opened at New York’s fashionable Fifth Avenue. Then the Godiva’s first boutique opted in Japan as well which was prestigious Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Department store in the central Tokyo. Then Hong Kong in 1998 in the up market department store, Sogo and Singapore in 2001 and Taiwan in 2002.

In the year 2007 Pierre Draps have created the special range of chocolates for its renovation by the original Grand Place of boutique in the Brussels. Then in the year 2008 the Ülker Group purchased the Godiva and Two years later, Godiva they opted first café in China in Shanghai and first Turkish boutique at Nisantası, Istanbul. Today they have reached a place when Godiva is available in 80 countries and even worldwide. Godiva’s founder Mr. Pierre Draps has created delicious chocolates till 2012. Now the Godiva chef Chocolatier proudly continues his footsteps. Apart from Godiva the Lindt lindor chocolates were also the same and were similarly loved by the people.
