History of Pernigotti

The tradition of Pernigotti has begun in the year 1860 with the opening of Novi Ligure. It soon became one of the most famous grocery stores in Piedmont. The outstanding production and good quality manufacturing of the products, made the owner Stefano Pernigotti to create a factory which will set a benchmark for all. He opened ‘Pernigotti & Sons’ in the year 1882 and became an official supplier of the royal family of Italy.

In the beginning of the nineteenth century, Pernigotti has already become a famous company in this sector, as they were using advance technology and innovative production process. The company kept on growing under the assistance of Paolo Pernigotti, and he did a wonderful job. Paolo Pernigotti run the company in a successful manner using his knowledge about new techniques and even created a honey-based recipe for torrone.

The company started producing classic Gianduiotto in the year 1927, it is an awesome chocolate in which Hazle nuts and chocolates are melted together to create an unmistakable shape. It didn’t take long for Gianduiotto to become the icon of the Italian chocolate tradition. With time the company kept growing and created products like Nocciolato, Pepitas or Cremino.

In 2013 the company was sold to Toksoz company, which is in Istanbul. But, in the year 2014 the Toksoz’s family gathered to launch it in the international market without losing the Italian origin and quality recipes of Pernigotti’s chocolate.
